OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team suffered an 82-45 loss to Trine (Ind.) University in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest today at the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Thunder put the first 16 points on the scoreboard. The Comets dented it for the first time with 4:21 showing on the clock when junior Kaylee Bush split two free throws. Trine led 26-10 after the first quarter, 40-24 at halftime and 65-35 at the end of the third quarter.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Madelyn Burdis was the only Olivet player in double figures, as she netted a career-high 14 points. Burdis made four three-pointers in the first half.
- Bush and freshman Reese Gohsman each scored seven points.
- Gohsman, junior Christina Malackanich and freshman Alexis Woodbeck grabbed five rebounds apiece.
- Malackanich blocked three shots to raise her career total to 66. She needs only six blocks to move into fifth on the all-time UOlivet list.
UP NEXT
- The Comets are off until next Saturday and Sunday, December 20-21, when they are in Angola, Indiana, for the Trine Holiday Classic. Olivet plays Hanover (Ind.) College on Saturday at 3 p.m. and University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Sunday at 1 p.m.
