ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s basketball team lost a 78-44 game to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College today at Kresge Gymnasium.

- The Britons scored the first five points of the game. The Comets answered with eight of the next 10 points to take their first lead, 8-7. Albion countered with a three-pointer before an Olivet layup leveled the score at the 5:07 mark. The Britons went on an 8-2 run to take their largest lead. A three-pointer for the Comets made the score 18-15 at the end of the opening quarter.
- Albion outscored Olivet, 20-8, in the second period to take 38-23 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. The Comets were not able to draw any closer for the rest of the game.
- Sophomore Zoee Zatarga scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting to top Olivet. She had a team-high three assists.
- Junior Rachel Swartz netted 10 points, including three baskets from behind the three-point arc. She pulled down a team-best four rebounds.
- Angelina Mendieta led all players with 18 points, including 13 in the first half.
- Becca Ross and Riley Davis added 15 and 10 points, respectively.
- Davis and Daniah Beavers each grabbed a game-best six rebounds.
- Elena Walker dished out seven assists.
- After playing its first eight games on the road, Olivet will host Great Lakes Christian College next Thursday, December 9, for its home-opener. Tip-off at the Cutler Event Center is 6 p.m.
