Women’s basketball: Lang named MIAA Player of the Week
Olivet College senior center Stefanie Lang has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for women’s basketball. She is being honored for the first time this season and the sixth time in her career.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior center Stefanie Lang has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for women's basketball. She is being honored for the first time this season and the sixth time in her career.
Lang averaged a double-double, 22.3 points and 11 rebounds, in leading the Comets to a 2-1 record last week against non-conference opponents. She scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 20 minutes in Olivet's 83-56 win Nov. 15 over Marygrove College. Lang then had 20 points and six rebounds in a 99-77 win Dec. 17 at Rochester College, and ended the week with 25 points and 15 rebounds in a 70-63 loss Dec. 21 vs. Millikin (Ill.) University. For the week, she made 32-of-58 field goals (55.2 percent) and 2-of-3 (66.7 percent) free throws.
Lang and the Comets are back in Tuesday, Dec. 30, when they travel to play Lawrence Technological Institute at 1 p.m. Olivet resumes its MIAA schedule Saturday, Jan. 3, with a 3 p.m. home game against Calvin College.
