Olivet led by as many as nine points on three occasions with the last time being, 20-11, with 7:47 showing on the clock. The Belles responded with a 16-5 run to take their first lead of the game, 26-25, since the 16:05 mark. Saint Mary's settled for a 3-point lead, 30-27, at halftime. The Belles outscored the Comets, 49-32, in the second half to pull away for the win.
Junior Caitlin Thilo (Onondaga/Eaton Rapids) was the only Olivet player in double figures, as she scored 14. Freshman Kati Stickney (Union City) had a career-high nine points. Senior Gabrielle Federau (Okemos) grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
For Saint Mary's, Anna Kammrath posted a double-double, 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jessica Centa also scored 18 points, while Kelley Murphy added 10 points.
The Comets will play a first round game of the 2010 MIAA Tournament next Tuesday, Feb. 23. Pairings for the tournament will be announced at the conclusion of this Saturday's games.
