The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Davenport University, 86-62, tonight at the DU Student Center in Grand Rapids.
Junior Gabrielle Federau (Okemos) and sophomore Ameina Ross (Lansing/Everett) each posted a double-double for the Comets. Federau had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Ross came off the bench to score a team-leading 15 points and grab 11 rebounds. Sophomore Caitlin Thilo (Onondaga/Eaton Rapids) finished with 12 points, including 5-of-6 shooting from the floor.
The Panthers placed four starters in double figures, led by Kristi Boehm and Brittany Lyman with 13 points a piece. Kallie Benike and Carrie Grubis each tallied 10 points. Benike also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
Olivet will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, to participate in the College of Mt. St. Joseph Tip-off Tournament this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21-22. The Comets open play Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Maryville (Tenn.) College.
