Olivet College’s Federau named MIAA Co-Player of the Week

Olivet College junior forward Gabrielle Federau (Okemos) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Co-Player of the Week for women's basketball. She shares the honor with Anita Stamps from Adrian College.

Federau posted career-highs in points (20) and rebounds (21), as the Comets defeated Marygrove College, 70-50, on Jan. 3. She made 10-of-17 shots for her 20 points and grabbed 11 offensive and 10 defensive rebounds. For the season, Federau is tied for first in the MIAA with five double-doubles and leads the league in rebounding (10.2 rpg). She is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.7 ppg and is shooting 58 percent (40-of-69) from the floor.

Olivet (6-6, 2-1 MIAA) will next be in action Wednesday night when it travels to play Alma College at 7:30 p.m.
