The Olivet College women’s basketball team was on the losing end of an 82-53 score against Calvin College today at the Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids.

The Knights scored the first five points of the game and never looked back, leading by as many 13 points three times in the first 20 minutes of play. Olivet kept the game in the first half by making 6-of-10 three-pointers. Calvin led by 10 points, 36-26, at the halftime break. In the second half, the Knights would lead by as many as 29 points on six occasions, including the final margin.
Senior Emily Brown (Muskegon/Mona Shores) paced the Comets with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Senior Lauren Fishwick (Trenton) joined her in double figures with 11 points. Brown and senior Sarah Mangold (Sterling Heights/Bishop Foley) each had six rebounds.
Marcia Harris came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points for the Knights. Brook VanEck posted a double-double, 12 points and 10 rebounds. Emily Ottenhoff scored 10 points.
Olivet will end the 2008-09 regular season next week. On Wednesday, the Comets will host MIAA-leader Hope College at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday, they will travel to play Albion College at 3 p.m.
