The Olivet College women’s basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to beat non-conference foe Andrews University, 84-30, tonight in Berrien Springs. The 54-point margin of victory breaks the school record. The old record was 50, which the Comets set in this year’s season-opener.

Every player who dressed for the game scored at least one point. Juniors Deidre Deering (Cass City) and Audrey Graham (Battle Creek/Lakeview) led the way with 12 points apiece. Junior Jen O'Neil (Auburn Hills/Avondale) was next with nine points, followed by juniors Callie Reed (Howell), Kenzie Steward (Alma) and Erika VanderVeer (Waterford/ Kettering) with eight markers each.
For the game, the Comets (4-2) shot 41.1 percent (30-of-73) from the floor, while Andrews (0-5) shot 26.7 percent (12-of-45). Olivet also forced 34 turnovers and made 15 steals.
Olivet will take next week off for fall semester exams and resume action Saturday, Dec. 10, when it hosts Spring Arbor University at 1 p.m.
