Johnston named to the first-team All-MIAA Women's Basketball Team
Olivet College sophomore center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genesee High School) has been named to the 2003-04 first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women’s Basketball squad.
Olivet College sophomore center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genesee High School) has been named to the 2003-04 first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Basketball squad.
Johnston, a 2002-03 second-team All-MIAA selection, ranked second in the league in scoring (14.4 ppg) and rebounding (8.4 rpg). She also ranked third in field goal percentage (56.7%), seventh in free throw percentage (77.4%) and second in defensive rebounds (142). In 13 MIAA games, Johnston averaged 13.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg. She shot 56.8 percent from the floor.
Seniors Molly Lipton (Ann Arbor/Pioneer School) and Kim Strange (Ellsworth High School) and junior Emily Fix (New Buffalo/Comstock Park High School) were selected to the coaches' honorable mention team.
The Comets ended their season with a 10-16 overall record and 3-11 MIAA mark.
