The Olivet College women's basketball team easily defeated Rochester College, 72-37, tonight in a non-conference game at the Upton Center.
In the contest, the Lady Comets (5-4) made 24-of-48 shots from the floor, including 10-of-21 from three-point range. They also outrebounded the Warriors (2-7), 48-28.
Olivet never trailed in the game with its biggest first half lead being the 26-point margin at halftime. In the second half, the Comets led by as many as 37 points on two occasions.
Sophomore center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genessee High School) paced Olivet with 12 points in 16 minutes of action. Senior Kim Strange (Ellsworth High School) and freshman Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier High School) scored nine points apiece. Sophomore center Courtney Ivan (Belleville High School) contributed eight points. Junior Anissa Stille (Portland High School) grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds for Olivet.
Olivet will next be in action on Friday, Dec. 19, when it hosts NAIA foe Huntington (Ind.) College at 3 p.m.
