Women’s Basketball Team Falls to MIAA Leader Hope, 79-56
The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leader Hope College, 79-56, tonight at the Dow Center. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Olivet.
HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leader Hope College, 79-56, tonight at the Dow Center. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Olivet.
Junior guard Molly Lipton (Ann Arbor/Pioneer High School) scored a game-high 15 points to lead Olivet. Junior guard Kim Strange (Ellsworth High School) had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. Freshman center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genesee High School) also scored nine points and sophomore guard Emily Fix (Comstock Park High School) added eight.
Amy Baltmanis led the Flying Dutch (23-0, 13-0) with 14 points. Amanda Kerkstra contributed 13 points and nine rebounds. Adelynn Vilmann and Katie Niehuis also scored in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Olivet will end the 2002-03 regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22 when it hosts MIAA rival Albion College. Tip-off from the Upton Center is 3 p.m.
