Lady Comets Defeat Grace Bible, 67-57, in the Consolation Game of Cornerstone Tourney; Grill surpasses 1,000 career point plateau
The Olivet College women's basketball team used a balance scoring attack to defeat Grace Bible College, 67-57, in the consolation game of the Cornerstone University Tip-Off Tournament. With the win, the Lady Comets improve their record to 1-1 overall while the Lady Lancers' record falls to 3-7 overall.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI. -- The Olivet College women's basketball team used a balance scoring attack to defeat Grace Bible College, 67-57, in the consolation game of the Cornerstone University Tip-Off Tournament. With the win, the Lady Comets improve their record to 1-1 overall while the Lady Lancers' record falls to 3-7 overall.
With her eight points, senior forward Louisa Grill surpassed the 1,000 career point plateau at Olivet.
Leading the way for the Lady Comets was senior guard Lindsey Brunworth who scored a team-high 11 points. She made four-of-eight shots, including three-of-six three pointers. Junior guard Molly Lipton joined Brunworth in double figures with 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench. Every Olivet player except one scored at least two points. Grill grabbed a team-best four rebounds and sophomore Emily Fix dished out five assists.
Olivet is idle until after Thanksgiving when it hosts the Comet Classic on Dec. 6-7. On Dec. 6, the Lady Comets will play Aquinas College at 7:00 p.m. and on Dec. 7, they will play Concordia College.
The Lady Comets will open the 2002-03 season on Nov. 22-23 at the Cornerstone University Tournament in Grand Rapids. Olivet will play host Cornerstone on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
