UOlivet STUNT team finishes third at Mid America Central Conference Championship Tournament

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet STUNT team finished third at the 2026 Mid-America Central Conference Championship Tournament held inside the Cutler Event Center. Yesterday, the Comets dropped a 12-8 game to Buena Vista (Iowa) University before bouncing back to beat St. Norbert (Wis.) College, 7-3. Today, Olivet suffered a narrow 8-7 overtime loss to Buena Vista.
GAME ONE VS. BUENA VISTA
- The Comets scored the first point of the game off routine one of the opening quarter. Buena Vista took a 2-1 halftime lead behind points on routines two and one of the second quarter. The Beavers outscored Olivet, 5-2, in the third quarter to stretch their lead to 7-3. Both teams tallied five points in the fourth quarter.
GAME TWO VS. ST. NORBERT
- In the first quarter, Olivet scored a point on routine one, while the Green Knights scored a point on routine two. The Comets recorded a point on routine two of the second quarter and routine one of the third quarter to make the score 3-1. Olivet had a 4-2 edge in the fourth quarter to seal the 7-3 win.
GAME THREE VS. BUENA VISTA
- The Comets posted the first team point when the Beavers self-forfeited for the second time in the fist quarter. The teams were within two on the first two routines of the second quarter, with Olivet earning two points on each and Buena Vista one point on each to make the score 5-2 at halftime.
- The Beavers evened the score at 5-5 after scoring points on routines two, one and four in the third quarter. Buena Vista took the first point in routine one of the final quarter. On routine two of the fourth period, Olivet outscored the Beavers, 2-1, to tie the game at 7-7. Both teams forfeited the last two routines of the quarter to send the game to overtime.
- With no points being awarded and double forfeits for the first 14 routines, the outcome was decided when Buena Vista scored a point on the jumps and tumbling segment of routine one.
