OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet softball team ended the 2024 season with two losses to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Alma College, 9-1 and 12-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

- Records: Olivet 3-27 overall, 0-16 MIAA; Alma 21-15 overall, 8-8 MIAA
- The Scots plated three runs in the first inning on a three-run homer. Alma added two more runs in the third, one run in the fourth and three runs in the sixth to take a 9-0 lead.
- The Comets scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Freshman Olivia Burt struck out but reached base when the third strike pitch was wild. She advanced to second base on freshman Alexis Bond's single. A successful sacrifice bunt by freshman Morgan Rachow moved both runners into scoring position. Freshman Haylie Wenke entered the game as a pinch-hitter and hit a sacrifice fly to score Burt.
- For the game, Olivet had five hits, including a 2-for-3 performance from freshman Hannah Cron.
- Alma scored four runs in the second, third and fourth innings to post the 12-0 mercy-rule win.
- Sophomore Mattie Akom broke up the perfect game with a hard-hit infield single. Bond then hit a single through the left-side of the infield. A strikeout ended the inning.
- The Comets' only other hit in the game was in the fifth when senior Emily Keeler lined a single into center field.
- After the games, Olivet recognized its four seniors – Maddie Bailey, Brielle Broderick, Keeler and Meredith Morell – who played in their final collegiate games. Also, student assistant coach Hunter Caister was honored.
