The Olivet College softball team swept a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader from Calvin College in its season-finale at the Calvin Field in Grand Rapids. The Comets posted a 6-3 win in the first game, which was completed today after being suspended because of rain last Saturday. Olivet took the nightcap, 8-0, which ended after six innings because of the eight-run mercy rule.

The Olivet College softball team celebrated “Strikeout Cancer” Day by sweeping a non-conference doubleheader from Finlandia University this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. The Comets scored three runs in the first inning of game one and hung on for a 6-3 victory. A six-run fifth inning propelled Olivet to an 11-5 win in the second game.

Softball team stretches win streak to 10 with two wins at Gene Cusic Classic

Behind complete game pitching performances from sophomore Katie Harper (Vassar) and freshman Rachel Cook (Traverse City/Central), the Olivet College softball team stretched its winning streak to 10 games with two wins today at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. In their first game, the Comets beat Carroll (Wisc.) University, and in the second game, they defeated Eastern Nazarene (Mass.) College.

The Olivet College softball team won two close games and improved its record to 8-0 with two close wins today at the Gene Classic. In their first game, the Comets held off a seventh-inning by Bowdoin (Maine) College to pull out a 3-2 win. In the second game, Olivet took advantage of four errors to beat the College of Wooster (Ohio), 3-1.

The Olivet College softball team posted two shutout victories today at the Gene Cusic Classic. In the first game, the Comets (6-0) beat New Jersey City University, 9-0, in six innings, and in the second game, they defeated Worcester Polytechnic (Mass.) Institute, 8-0, in five innings.
