UOlivet defeated by Baldwin Wallace in three sets

BEREA, Ohio – The University of Olivet men's volleyball team came up short against Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) match this evening at the Ursprung Gymnasium.
THE BASICS
- Final Score: Baldwin Wallace defeated Olivet 25-18, 25-20, 25-22

- Records: Olivet 5-20 overall, 0-8 MCVL; Baldwin Wallace 17-10 overall, 5-3 MCVL
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The beginning of the first set was close, as neither team led by more than two points until the Yellow Jackets got ahead 16-13. The seven-point margin at the end was BW's largest lead of the set.
- The only time the Yellow Jackets trailed in the second set was 1-0. BW scored the next three points and held onto the advantage for the rest of the set.
- In the third set, the Comets built a four-point cushion, 8-4. The Yellow Jackets responded with a 6-0 run. Olivet scored the next point but would not get any closer for the remainder of the set.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Silas Martin recorded a team-best nine kills and shared for the team lead with six digs.
- Freshman Jared Carter tallied six kills as well as six digs.
- Freshman Austin Chamblee dished out 22 set assists.

- The Comets head to Alliance, Ohio, to play at University of Mount Union tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
