UOlivet loses four-set match to Siena Heights

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's volleyball team was upended by Siena Heights University in four sets tonight at the Cutler Event Center.
THE BASICS
- Final Score: Siena Heights defeated Olivet 25-18, 25-18, 19-25, 25-17
- Location: Cutler Event Center; Olivet, Michigan
- Records: Olivet 1-5 overall, Siena Heights 1-0 overall
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The early part of the first set was close, as there were three tied scores and two lead changes. Following a 3-3 deadlock, the Saints used two kills to take a lead which they did not relinquish.
- The second set was a lot like the opening set, with three tied scores and a couple of lead changes at the beginning. Siena Heights scored the next two points, and it stayed on top for the rest of the set.
- The start of the third set featured many tied scores. After an 11-11 score, the Saints scored the next three points. Olivet answered with three straight points to even the score. The teams traded points to create four more tied scores. Following a 19-19 score, the Comets put the final six points on the scoreboard to win the set.
- Siena Heights had a wire-to-wire lead in the fourth set.
- Olivet finished the match with 25 kills compared to 53 for the Saints.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Silas Martin slammed down eight kills.
- Senior Thayne Bilicki and sophomore Ke'Shon Johnson each had four kills.
- Junior Matthew Tollar collected a team-best seven digs.
- Sophomore Andy Hok recorded 20 set assists.
