UOlivet men place fourth MIAA Field Day

HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's track and field team placed fourth at the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day, hosted at Hope College's Gordon Brewer Track. It is the highest finish for the Comets since 1982 when they were also fourth.
FOR THE COMETS
- The Comets totaled 71 points. Calvin University captured the league title with 238 points, followed by Hope, 215; and Trine University (Ind.), 116. Behind Olivet were Albion College, 65; Adrian College, 54; Alma College, 33; and Kalamazoo College, 25.
- Sophomore Yrral Campbell finished third in the discus with a throw of 156 feet, 1 inch.
- Also, in the discus, junior Owen Fremeau was seventh (147 feet, 2 inches).
- Junior Luke Leighton and sophomore Tye Kirschner placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles. Their times were 57.28 and 57.81 seconds.
- Kirschner placed sixth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6 feet, 2-1/4 inches. The mark ranks eighth all-time at UOlivet. Also, in the high jump, sophomore Jadyn Brown scored an eight-place point with a six-foot clearance.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of senior Dontal Wright, freshman Aiden Coggins, Leighton and Kirschner finished third (3:25.95).
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Wright, Coggins, Kirschner and junior Peter Moore placed fifth (43.68).
