Fremeau wins weight throw, UOlivet in fourth-place after day one of MIAA Championships
ANGOLA, Ind. – Junior Owen Fremeau won the weight throw to lead The University of Olivet men's indoor track and field to a fourth place standing after day one of the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships.
The Comets have totaled 23 points to sit one point ahead of fifth-place Adrian College. Calvin University is in first with 75 points, followed by Hope College, 45; and Trine University (Ind.), 43.
Fremeau's winning throw was a MIAA championships record at 63 feet. Freshman Aiden Coggins placed third in the long jump with a personal best leap of 21 feet, 6-3/4 inches. The performance is sixth on the UOlivet all-time top 10 list. Sophomore Yrral Campbell finished sixth in the weight throw (50 feet, 3-1/4 inches).
The distance medley relay team of sophomore Brenden Castillo, junior Luke Leighton, freshman Emori Jones and junior Joe Kadluboski was fifth (11:17.98).
