Moore selected MIAA Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Sophomore Peter Moore from The University of Olivet has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Moore posted a personal best mark of 6.52 meters / 21 feet, 4-1/4 inches in the long jump at the Saginaw Valley State University Holiday Open. The mark placed him seventh of 39 entrants but first among NCAA Division III student-athletes. It also moved Moore up to No. 5 on the UOlivet Indoor Top 10 list.
"Peter already made big improvements this year in his first indoor meet," said OIivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "As a sophomore, he now understands what Coach (Joey) LeMere asks for him to do in practice and competitions. Peter works hard every day at practice, and it was rewarding to see him perform well in his first competition. We are very excited to see what he does the rest of the season."
Olivet is off until January 17 when it competes at the Central Michigan University / Jack Skoog Open.
