Men’s tennis team defeats Concordia, 6-3
The Olivet College men’s tennis team defeated Concordia University, 6-3, today inside the Chippewa Tennis Club in Ypsilanti.
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Olivet College men's tennis team defeated Concordia University, 6-3, today at the Chippewa Tennis Club in Ypsilanti.
The Comets won two-of-three doubles flight. At No. 1, the duo of Max Grabel and Ben Morris did not lose a game en route to an 8-0 pro-set victory. The No. 1 duo of Jacob Richards and Talen Schallhorn posted an 8-4 win.
Olivet sealed its win with victories in 4-of-6 singles flights. Grabel won 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1. Morris earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2. Schallhorn breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4. Jesse Alcala had a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 6.
The Comets will resume their 2015-16 schedule in March with a non-conference match against a to be determined opponent. Olivet will also play seven matches against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponents.
