OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 tie against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olivet led 1-0 at halftime behind a goal by senior Aidan Reynolds in the 37th minute. Kalamazoo was called for a foul when the keeper picked up the ball on a backwards pass from his teammate. Senior Kyle Buchan tapped the ball to Reynolds who fired a shot past a wall of players and into the net at the far post.
- The Hornets tied the score in the 14th minute of the second half and took a 2-1 lead seven minutes later.
- Sophomore Tyler Kendrick scored the tying goal in the 79th minute. His hard crossing shot went past the goalie at the near post.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet finished the game with a slight 17-16 edge in total shots.
- Freshman Marcel Jackson led the way with four shots, including three on-frame.
- Sophomore Jacksen Gil recorded three shots.
- Junior Nicholas Van Port Fleet ended the game with five saves.
UP NEXT
- The Comets host Trine (Ind.) University on Thursday for a rescheduled MIAA contest at 4 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for last Saturday, October 18, but was postponed due to persistent lightning in the area.
