ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's soccer team began Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-2 loss against Adrian College tonight inside the Sweebe Indoor Athletic Center.
THE BASICS
- Final Score: Adrian 3, Olivet 2

- Records: Olivet 1-5-2 overall, 0-1-0 MIAA; Adrian 3-9-0 overall, 1-0-0 MIAA
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs led 1-0 at halftime behind a goal in the 10th minute.
- Adrian added another goal in the fourth minute to take a 2-0 lead.
- Olivet closed the gap to 2-1 on a goal by senior Jaden Cantu in the 58th minute. Senior Braden Abbott earned the assist.
- The Comets leveled the score at 2-2 when senior Aidan Reynolds buried a penalty kick goal in the 66th minute.
- The Bulldogs netted what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet out-shot Adrian, 11-9. But both teams placed seven shots on goal.
- Reynolds and freshman Marcel Jackson led the Comets with three shots apiece. All three of Reynolds' shots were on target, while only one was for Jackson.
- Senior Carter Scheel had two shots.
- Junior Nicholas Van Port Fleet played all 90 minutes in between the pipes and collected four saves.

- Olivet's next game is Saturday when it hosts Hope College at 3 p.m. The game is a part of a soccer doubleheader at the Cutler Athletic Complex, as the Comet women face Calvin University prior to the men's game at 12 p.m.
