UOlivet ties Anderson 2-2 in home-opener

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against Anderson (Ind.) University today inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.

THE BASICS

• Final Score: Olivet 2, Anderson 2

• Records: Olivet 0-2-1 overall, Anderson 3-2-1 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first half, both teams generated scoring chances, but neither was able to find the back of the net.
• The Comets dented the scoreboard in the 50th minute on freshman Marcel Jackson's first collegiate goal. Senior Kyle Buchan assisted on the goal.
• Miles Tucker scored two goals for the Ravens in a span of 59 seconds in the 76th and 77th minute.
• The score stayed that way until the 84th minute. Senior Braden Abbott volleyed the ball into the goal after receiving a pass from Buchan.

FOR THE COMETS

• Olivet ended the game with a slight 13-10 advantage in total shots, including a 9-6 in shots-on-goal.
• Abbott and Buchan each recorded three shots.
• Junior Nicholas Van Port Fleet collected three saves, while playing all 90 minutes in between the pipes.
