Men’s soccer team wins 8-4 at Great Lakes Christian

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team closed out the non-league portion of its schedule with a resounding 8-4 victory over Great Lakes Christian College today at Henderson Field.

• Final Score: Olivet 8, Great Lakes Christian 4
• Location: Henderson Field; Delta Township, Michigan
• Records: Great Lakes Christian 4-4 overall, Olivet 3-5-1 overall

• The Crusaders scored the first goal.
• Olivet answered with three goals in a short period of time to go ahead 3-1.
• The Comets added four more goals for a 7-1 lead.
• Great Lakes Christian tallied the last goal of the half to trail 7-2 at the break.
• The Crusaders netted the first goal of the second half before Olivet found the back of the net to make the score 8-3.
• Great Lakes Christian capped the scoring late in the game. 

• Senior Noah Runnals recorded a hat trick (three goals).
• Freshman Braden Abbott and sophomore Carter Scheel each had two goals and one assist for five points.
• Senior Cole Millerr tallied one goal.
• Senior Kjeil Dickinson added three assists. 

• The last time Olivet scored eight or more goals in a game was September 1, 2009, against Andrews University.
• The school record for goals scored in a game was 10 on October 24, 1998, against Defiance (Ohio) College.
• The eight goals ties for the sixth-most scored in a single game in school history.
