OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Michael Moscone (Washington Twp./Warren De La Salle) has earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Defensive Player of the Week honors for men's soccer.
Moscone helped the Comets record a 1-0-1 record in its season-opening games at the Kalamazoo College Hornet Classic. He scored the first goal from 45 yards out on a free kick and helped preserve a 2-1 lead for the final 31 minutes against Madonna University. Moscone then assisted on the second goal in a 2-2 tie against Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.).
"Michael had an excellent weekend all around," said Olivet Head Coach Dan Bulley. "His range of passing and ability to deliver dangerous balls into the box, as well as his willingness to get on the ball at every opportunity is a massive plus for the team."
Moscone and the Comets are back in action Wednesday night when they travel to play Spring Arbor University at 7 p.m.
