Alma-Olivet Classic All-Tournament Team announced
The all-tournament team for the 2012 Alma College-Olivet College Classic has been announced. With two wins, Olivet won the tournament championship and representing the Comets on all-tournament team are Kyle Cupp, Cole Dehen, Esteban Russell and Adam Wright.
OLIVET, Mich. – The all-tournament team for the 2012 Alma College-Olivet College Classic has been announced. With two wins, Olivet won the tournament championship and representing the Comets on all-tournament team are Kyle Cupp (Otsego), Cole Dehen (Kentwood/East Kentwood), Esteban Russell (DeWitt) and Adam Wright (South End, England/Walled Lake Western). Russell was also selected as the tournament's Most Valuable Player. The other all-tournament team members are Matt Kuberski and Matt Sovis from Alma; Matt Grau, Drew Servais and John Wittich from Hanover (Ind.) College; and Damian Stamenkowicz and Nathan Symkowicz from University of Mich.-Dearborn.
Cupp and Dehen were leaders of the back line for Olivet in both games. Cupp scored two goals off headers in the Comets' 3-0 win over Hanover. Dehen had an assist against Hanover. Russell assisted on two goals, including the game-winning goal in Olivet's 3-2 win over Dearborn. He also scored a goal against Hanover. Wright scored the first two goals against Dearborn.
In the games at Alma, the Scots fell to Hanover, 3-2, but rebounded to shutout out Dearborn, 2-0.
