The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) leader Hope College, 3-0, this afternoon in Holland.
The Flying Dutchmen (15-2, 11-0 MIAA) led 1-0 at halftime on a goal in the 11th minute. Hope tallied its second half goals in the 56th and 78th minutes.
The Comets (6-10-1, 5-5-1 MIAA) finished the game with 12 shots, including six on-goal. Sophomore Alan Holdorf (Novi) and freshman Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) had three shots apiece. In goal, senior Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids) went the first 85 minutes and made seven saves. Freshman keeper Ben Richardson (Traverse City/Central) played the final five minutes.
Olivet is back in action Saturday, Oct. 29, when it hosts Calvin College in the second game of a women's/men's soccer doubleheader. The Olivet women will play Alma College at noon, followed by the men's game at approximately 2 p.m.
