Men's soccer team falls to Tri-State, 3-1
The Olivet College men's soccer dropped a 3-1 decision in its season finale at home against Tri-State (Ind.) University.
The Olivet College men's soccer dropped a 3-1 decision in its season finale at home against Tri-State (Ind.) University.
The Fighting Comets scored just 21 seconds into the game on a breakaway goal by sophomore Rudy Pulido (Holt High School). Junior Frank Barretta (Macomb/Lutheran North High School) and freshman Trent Bronsink (Byron Center/South Christian High School) added the assists on the goal. The score remained 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Tri-State tied the game with a goal at the 64:35 mark. The Thunder took the lead just under two minutes later and scored an insurance goal with 5:25 left in the game.
For the game, Olivet had 13 shots, including three by Bronsink and Pulido. Sophomore Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) played all 90 minutes in goal. He faced 30 shots ande made 10 saves.
