The Fighting Comets struck first on an unassisted goal by sophomore Rudy Pulido (Holt High School) just 3:20 in the game. Olivet stretched its lead to 2-0 at the 14:40 mark when freshman Ryan Kingsley (Fowlerville High School) headed the ball into the goal on a crossing pass by sophomore Alex Lundy (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School). The Bulldogs tied the game with two goals in the second half, and scored the game-winner in the third minute of overtime.
Olivet outshot Adrian, 21-13, and also held a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks. Senior midfielder Eric Cole (Eaton Rapids High School) had a team-high five shots. He was followed by freshman Trent Bronsink (Byron Center/South Christian High School) with four and Pulido with three. Sophomore Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) played the entire game (93:42) in goal and made five saves.
The Comets are next in action Tuesday, Oct. 28 when they host Hope College at 3 p.m. Next Saturday, Nov. 1, Olivet will travel to play Calvin College at 1:30 p.m.
