Four double figure scorers lead UOlivet to 77-69 win at Alma

ALMA, Mich. – Four players scored in double figures to help The University of Olivet men's basketball team beat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College, 77-69, tonight at Art Smith Arena.

FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Porter Kretschman nearly posted a double-double with team-highs in points (20) and rebounds (nine).
- Junior Lee Hardy finished with 17 points.
- Sophomore Sam Howard came off the bench to score 15 points.
- Freshman Sean Shenker had 11 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Comets scored the first basket of the game, the Scots scored the next 11 points over a span of nearly five minutes. Olivet responded with a 13-0 run over a four-minute period to take a 15-11 lead at the 10:05 mark. Alma answered with a 14-7 spurt to regain the lead, 25-22, with 5:06 left until halftime. The Comets countered with nine straight points to gain a six-point cushion. The Scots made the last basket of the opening half to trail by four points, 31-27, at the intermission.
- In the second half, Olivet extended its lead to 16 points, 56-40, at the 11:32 mark. Alma battled back and trimmed its deficit down to a single point, 69-68, with 3:10 left. The Comets put eight of the final nine points on the scoreboard to post the eight-point win.
