UOlivet ends season with 63-47 loss to Calvin in MIAA Tournament semifinals

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's basketball team fell to Calvin University, xxx, in the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament semifinals at Van Noord Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets started off by making their first three shots to take a 7-0 lead. The Knights came back with an 11-2 run to their first lead. Calvin pushed its lead to as many as 11 points, 34-23, at the 2:08 mark. Olivet scored the last four points of the half to trail by seven points, 34-27, at the halftime break.
- Calvin made a three-pointer to stretch its lead to 10 points. The Comets battled back to trim their deficit down to three points, 45-42, with 9:46 left in the game. The teams traded baskets to create another three-point differential. The Knights used a 12-1 run in a four-minute span to gain a 15-point advantage, 49-44. Olivet was not able to get its deficit under 10 points for the rest of the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Conner Schipper led Olivet with 13 points and eight rebounds.
- Sophomore Nathan Richardson added 12 points, three assists and two steals.
- Sophomore Lee Hardy contributed six points, six rebounds and three blocks.
