OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to Trine (Ind.) University 74-49 in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association game this afternoon at Hershey Hall in Angola, Ind.
The Comets did not have any players reach double figures in the scoring column, as junior Alvino Ashley (Detroit/MLK) and freshman Dylan Roe (Traverse City/Central) each scored nine points. Senior Jaren Edsall (Whitehall) and junior Matt Smith (Allegan) had eight points apiece. Ashley pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
For the Thunder, Tim Pearcy led all scorers with 19 points. Chris Kent and Ian Jackson contributed 16 and 12 points, respectively. Three Trine players each grabbed six rebounds.
Olivet will wrap-up the 2011-12 season next week with two home games at The Cutler Event Center. On Wednesday night, the Comets play Hope College at 8 p.m., and on Saturday afternoon, they play Calvin College at 3 p.m.
