Men’s basketball team falls to Tri-State (Ind.), 102-84
The Olivet College men’s basketball team scored 84 points but it was not enough as Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Tri-State (Ind.) University defeated the Fighting Comets, 102-84, tonight at Hershey Hall in Angola, Indiana.

In the first half, the Fighting Comets (6-10, 0-5 MIAA) jumped out to a 10-5 lead at the 16:29 mark when sophomore Jerame File (Jackson/Hanover-Horton) nailed a three-pointer. The Thunder then used an 8-1 run to take a 13-11 lead. Tri-State (4-13, 1-5 MIAA) eventually led by as many as 15 points twice during the first 20 minutes, including 53-38 at halftime.
Olivet cut the deficit down to 10 points, 63-53, with 15:36 remaining in the game. Tri-State extended its lead out to 25 points just under the midway point of the half. The closes that the Comets would get was 18 points at the final buzzer.
Junior De'Andre Pruitt (River Rouge) posted a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds, to lead Olivet. Junior Greg Ravy (New Orleans, La./L.B. Landry) also chipped in with 16 points, including 14 in the second half. Senior Will Lee (Lansing Everett) joined them in double figures with 12 points. File had nine points and eight rebounds.
Britain Flowers led three Tri-State players in double digits with a game-high 22 points, followed by Mo Brookins with 20 points and Micah Williams with 18. Brandon O'Leary and David Hutter grabbed 13 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
Olivet is next in action Wednesday, Jan. 26, when it hosts Adrian College at the Upton Center at 7:30 p.m.
