The men's basketball team dropped an 81-56 decision tonight at NCAA Division II foe Wayne State University at the Matthaei Center in Detroit.

Both teams used big runs during the first half. The Fighting Comets (2-3) had a 16-6 run to take a 27-17 lead with 4:41 left when junior DeAndre Clement (Saginaw) nailed a three-pointer. The Warriors outscored Olivet, 17-2, in the final 4:41 to take a 34-29 lead at halftime. Wayne State built its biggest lead to 30 points twice in the second half.
Junior Greg Ravy (New Orleans, La./L.B. Landry) was the lone Comet in double figures with 10 points. Junior De'Andre Pruitt (River Rouge) was next with nine points. Junior Gerald Dozie (Detroit/Southeastern) topped the team with six rebounds.
The Warriors (1-1) were led by Morris Hall with a game-high 22 rebounds.
Olivet will next be in action Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3-4, at the Defiance (Ohio) College Purple & Gold Financial Tournament. The Comets open play against University of Mich.-Dearborn on Friday night at 6 p.m.
