De'Andre Pruitt named MIAA Co-Player of the Week

Pruitt and the Fighting Comets had a 1-1 record last week. In an 81-65 win over Alma College at home on Jan. 15, he had 22 points and followed that with a career-high 29 points in an 84-78 loss at Calvin on Jan. 17. For the two games, Pruitt made 18-of-38 shots from the floor, including seven-of-17 three pointers, and was eight-of-10 from the free throw line. He also grabbed 14 rebounds and was credited with seven assists and 11 steals.
For the season, Pruitt leads the team in scoring (15.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg). He is shooting 45.3 percent from the floor and is second on the team with 22 three-pointers.
Pruitt and the Comets (9-6, 3-1 MIAA) will look to remain in a tie for first place in the league standings when they host Hope College on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Olivet is tied with Calvin followed by Hope and Adrian with a 2-1 mark.
