Men's basketball team routs Andrews University, 105-48
The Olivet College men’s basketball team defeated non-conference foe Andrews University, 105-48, tonight at Niles High School. The game was a homecoming for Olivet senior guard Matt Brawley and sophomore center Derek Cox, who played on the same basketball court that they did during their high school careers.

After Andrews scored to take a 3-2 lead, Cox scored the next two points for the Comets, and they never relinquished the lead again in the contest. In the first half, Olivet led by as many as 23 points at 47-24 with 56 seconds left when senior point guard Travis Schellhammer (Grand Ledge High School) nailed a three-pointer. The Comets extended their lead to 59 points on two occasions in the second half.
In the game, Olivet made 44-of-77 field goals for 57.1 percent and outrebounded Andrews, 39-23. The Cardinals made 20-of-44 shots and committed 43 turnovers.
Sophomore forwards De'Andre Pruitt (River Rouge High School) and Steve Johnson (Detroit/Murray Wright High School) led the Comets with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Johnson also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
Cox and freshman center Andy Storey (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) scored 12 points apiece. Storey also pulled down six rebounds and blocked four shots. They were followed by junior forward Ronnie Pearson (Holly High School) with 11 points. Schellhammer was credited with a team-high 10 steals and six assists.
Olivet is next in action on Wednesday, Dec. 10 when it travels to play Davenport University. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
