UOlivet’s Freeman and Harbor earn All-MIAA honors
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet junior Carlton Freeman and sophomore Jelani Harbor have been selected to the 2025 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) First Team for football. All-MIAA honors are based on a player's performance during the seven-game conference schedule.
Freeman started every game at outside linebacker and recorded 20 total tackles. Included in his 20 stops were eight tackles for minus 47 yards, with six being quarterback sacks. He also forced two fumbles. Harbor was the starting left tackle in every game, blocking for an offense which averaged 341.1 yard per game.
"Jelani was a mainstay at left tackle and did an outstanding job in pass protection all year," said Olivet head coach Erik Ieuter. "Carlton was a playmaker off the edge, coming up with big plays when we needed them. I'm excited to continue to build this program with Carlton and Jelani leading the way."
For the entire 10-game schedule, Freeman had 31 tackles. Seven of them were quarterback sacks. Harbor, now a two-time all-league selection after being a 2024 All-MIAA Second Team pick, and the rest of the offensive line helped the Comets average 338.4 yards per game.
