OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet football team was on the losing end of a 59-7 final score to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Trine (Ind.) University tonight under the lights at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Thunder put points on the scoreboard on eight of their 10 possessions in the first half. Seven of the possessions ended in a touchdown, and the eighth time closed with a field goal to take a 52-0 lead at halftime. Trine added an eighth touchdown early in the third quarter to seize a 59-0 lead.
- The Comets scored their only touchdown with 14:24 left in the game. Sophomore Dorian Freeman capped a 10-play drive with an 11-yard run into the end zone.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet finished the game with 253 yards of offense.
- Senior Charlie Grant completed 17-of-46 passes for 193 yards.
- Freshman Wade Brashears caught six passes for 57 yards, while junior Rashawn Mersier had 77 receiving yards on five grabs.
- Freeman led the ground game with 10 carries for 43 yards.
- Freshman Jaylan Johnson rushed for 39 yards on 12 carries.
- Freshman Javon Peterson topped the defense with 11 total tackles, including nine solo stops.
- Junior Draven Langston had six solo tackles, including two for minus eight yards.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Tonight's game was just the second time Olivet played a football game on a Thursday night. The other time was during the 2006 season on September 14 against Manchester (Ind.) University.
