Four UOlivet football players named to CSC Academic All-District® team
OLIVET, Mich. – SirQuarius Ball, Isaac Rowe, Garrett Shumaker and Dominico Tejeda from The University of Olivet football team have been selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, the organization announced today. Ball, Rowe and Tejeda are now two-time honorees, while Shumaker is being recognized for the first time.
To be eligible to earn Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and have significant athletic credentials. The student-athlete must have also played in 90 percent of their school's games or started in 66 percent of the team's games.
SIRQUARIUS BALL
A senior captain from Saginaw and a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Ball started every game at wide receiver. He hauled in a team-best 26 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns in 2024. Ball ended his Olivet career ranked No. 10 in receiving yards with 1,281 yards, tied for 10th with 84 receptions and tied for eighth with 12 touchdown receptions.
ISAAC ROWE
Also, a senior captain from Plainwell and a graduate of Plainwell High School, Rowe started all 10 games at linebacker. He was second on the team with 55 total tackles, including 6.5 stops for negative 26 yards. Two of the tackles for loss were quarterback sacks for minus 20 yards. Rowe finished his UOlivet career with 163 total tackles (79 solo and 84 assisted), with 16.5 for minus 55 yards.
GARRETT SHUMAKER
A senior from Grand Blanc and a graduate of Grand Blanc High School, Shumaker saw action in every game at the fullback/tight end position. He blocked for an offense which averaged 214.1 rushing yards and 122.1 passing yards per game. Shumaker caught two passes for 17 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown reception.
DOMINICO TEJEDA
A junior from Allendale and a graduate of Allendale High School, Tejeda was a nose tackle in all 10 games for the Comets. He ended the year with 54 total tackles (13 solo and 41 assisted) to earn All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Second Team honors. Tejeda's best game was a nine-tackle performance against Trine (Ind.) University. He enters his senior season in 2025 with 103 career tackles.
