Madry named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for football
Olivet College sophomore Cole Madry has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week for football.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Cole Madry has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week for football.
A defensive lineman, Madry recorded four total tackles, including two and one-half quarterback sacks for minus 25 yards, and forced a fumble in the Comets' 30-7 win Sept. 17 at Wisconsin Lutheran College. As a defensive unit, Olivet held the Warriors to 199 total yards, with only four rushing yards.
Madry and the Comets have their bye week this Saturday, and will then open MIAA play Saturday, Oct. 1, when they travel to play Hope College at 6 p.m.
