UOlivet’s Carney named to D3baseball.com and ABCA All-Region First Team, ABCA Region 7 Pitcher of the Year

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet's Bryan Carney has been named to both the 2026 D3baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings (ABCA) All-Region 7 First Team. In addition, he was voted the ABCA Region 7 Pitcher of the Year. Carney is now eligible to earn All-America honors from both organizations. Those honors will be announced on Thursday.

The 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Pitcher of the Year and All-MIAA First Team pick, Carney posted a 7-3 record and 1.35 ERA over 73 and one-third innings. He struck out a UOlivet single season record 122 batters, while walking only 17 batters and allowing only 41 hits for a 0.79 WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched).

Carney gave up 13 runs (11 earned) in his 11 starts on the mound. Ironically, all 11 earned runs were allowed in his three losses. The two unearned runs were in a no-decision against Hope College and a win against Ohio Wesleyan University. Thus, in six starts, he did not surrender any runs.

Carney's 122 punchouts and 14.97 strikeouts per nine innings rank first among all NCAA Division III pitchers. His 0.79 WHIP is second and ERA is third.
