ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Olivet baseball team fell to Adrian College, 14-2, in the final game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association series today at Nicolay Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs took a 12-0 lead after scoring seven runs in the first inning, four runs in the second inning and one run in the fourth inning. The Comets broke up the shutout with a run in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, senior Braden Abbott reached via fielder's choice, which allowed senior Austin Alflen to score.
- Adrian plated two runs in the home half of the fifth to extend its lead to 14-1. Senior Tyler Duncan hit a solo home run for Olivet's last tally.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet ended the game with only four hits.
- Duncan went 2-for-4.
- Freshman Wyatt Ball was tagged with the pitching loss as he surrendered eight runs (seven earned) on three hits, one walk and three hit batters over an inning.
- Junior Charlie Quilliam gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits and two hit batters over three innings.
- Junior Austin Wittrock threw two innings, allowing two runs on four hits.

- The Comets face Kalamazoo College in their final league series. The series begins Friday with a single game at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet, beginning at 4 p.m. The final two games are on Saturday at Woodworth Field in Kalamazoo, starting at 1 p.m.
