OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet baseball team was on the losing end of both games of a doubleheader against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Adrian College this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs won by scores of 5-4 and 6-1.
THE BASICS

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bulldogs used a double and single for a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Comets needed only one hit to score a pair of runs in the fourth inning. Adrian responded with two runs in the fifth to regain the lead 3-2. The Bulldogs added single tallies in both the sixth and seventh innings to stretch their lead to 5-2.
- Olivet closed the gap to 5-4 when it scored two runs in the eighth inning. Senior Tyler Duncan hit a solo home run and senior Braden Abbott hit an RBI-double. The Comets had runners on second and third before a fly ball ended the threat.
- At the plate, Olivet totaled seven hits. Abbott and Duncan each had two hits. Freshman Ryan Wiggins had one hit and walked twice.
- On the mound, senior Bryan Carney suffered the loss. He allowed three runs on six hits over five innings. He stuck out seven batters to raise his season total to 110 and career total to 276.
- Senior Logan Lewis threw four innings of relief.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bulldogs led 2-0 behind single runs in the first and fourth innings. Olivet scored its run in the home half of the fourth inning on Duncan's sacrifice fly. Adrian plated another run in the sixth before tallying three runs in the ninth.
- The Comets out-hit the Bulldogs, 11-9.
- Wiggins along with seniors Nate Droste and Mikey Kuzara, and freshman Mario Ricard each had two hits. Freshman Dawson Sherman was the losing pitcher, as he gave ujp three runs on five hits and four walks over six innings.

- The Comets and Bulldogs will play the final game of the series tomorrow at Nicolay Field in Adrian, starting at 1 p.m.
