HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets used a two-out rally to score a run in the first inning. Senior Braden Abbott ripped a triple to right-center field and came around to score on a senior Mikey Kuzara's single through the right side of the infield.
- Landon Evans hit a three-run homer for the Knights in the bottom half of the first. Olivet left two runners stranded at least one runner in each of the next three innings. In the eighth, the Comets pulled within a run on an RBI-single by senior Tyler Hall. Later in the frame, Olivet loaded the bases to force a pitching change for Calvin. A flyout ended the threat.
- Down to their last out, Abbott walked on a 3-1 count. Senior Nate Droste entered the game as a pinch runner and took second on a failed pickoff attempt. A strikeout ended the game.
