MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The University of Olivet baseball team lost 12-2 to Delaware Valley University (Pa.) this morning on Griffith Field and at the Ripken Baseball Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Aggies took advantage of two Comet errors to score two unearned runs in the first inning. Delaware Valley added three more runs in the third inning. The Aggies capped their scoring with four runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth. The Comets scored their two runs in the seventh inning, but it was not enough to continue play, as the game ended early due to the 10-run mercy rule.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet tallied seven hits.
- Freshman Wyatt Ball was 2-for-3 with two singles and run scored.
- Junior EJ Suggitt also recorded a pair of singles.
- The lone extra base hit was a double by freshman Mario Ricard.
- Five pitchers combined to allow 12 runs (10 earned) on nine hits, eight walks and seven hit batters. Freshman Kyle Lockwood was charged with the loss.
UP NEXT
- The Comets conclude their spring break trip tomorrow with a 6 p.m. game against Otterbein University (Ohio). The game will be played at the Polo Grounds Field.
