Four UOlivet baseball players named to CSC Academic All-District® team
OLIVET, Mich. – Four student-athletes on The University of Olivet baseball team have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team. The honorees are sophomore Austin Alflen, junior Bryan Carney, senior Mason Cook and junior Mikey Kuzara.
To be selected to the Academic All-District® team, the player must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and started in 90 percent of the team's games OR played in 66 percent of the team's games.
Alflen, an insurance and risk management major, started 34-of-36 games at third base for the Comets during the 2025 season. He posted a .250 batting average, while ranking second on the team with 19 RBI and 19 runs scored.
Carney, an insurance and risk management major and All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Second Team pick, led the pitching staff with a 2.82 earned run average and 46 strikeouts. Batters hit .228 against him.
Cook, a business marketing major, started all 35 games in right field and recorded a .248 batting average. He tied for the team lead with five home runs to go along with four doubles and two triples for a .467 slugging percentage.
Kuzara, an insurance and risk management major, played in 29 games, with 26 starts. He posted the team's third best batting average at .273, while scoring 18 runs and driving in 12.
The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The Division III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division III Academic All-America® programs.
