GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College baseball team was on the losing end against Calvin University, 10-0 and 17-1, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader today at the CU Baseball Field.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College baseball team was on the losing end against Calvin University, 10-0 and 17-1, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader today at the CU Baseball Field.

- The Knights took a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first inning.
- Calvin hit a solo home run in the third inning.
- The Knights sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 8-0.
- Calvin pushed across their final two runs in the sixth inning.
- Olivet was limited to three hits.
- Seniors Ben Compton and Matt Hewitt each had a single, while sophomore Sylas Woll had a triple.
- On the mound, senior Hunter Henson was credited with the loss. He gave up eight runs (six earned) on 10 hits over five innings.
- The Knights totaled 11 hits, including four for extra bases.
- Caden Penn, Rick Padilla, Matt Raymond and Andrew Hung each recorded two hits.
- Padilla scored three runs.
- Hung drove in two runs.
- Hayden White threw all seven innings to earn the win.
- The Knights scored four runs in the first, seven runs in the second, two runs in the third and two runs in the fourth to take a commanding 15-0 lead.
- Olivet dented the scoreboard for the only time in the fifth inning. Hewitt had a one-out single, went to second on freshman Blake Hawkins' single and crossed the dish on sophomore Trevor Savage's RBI-single.
- Calvin scored its last two runs in the sixth and kept the Comets off the scoreboard in seventh to end the game early due to the 10-run mercy rule.
- Olivet had just five hits, including two for senior Logan Sella.
- Sophomore Keegan Kuha was the losing pitcher. He started and gave up the four first-inning runs on one hit.
- Four relief pitchers combined to allow 13 runs on 12 hits.
- Penn was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and two RBI.
- Ryan Petersen hit two doubles and scored two runs.
- J.C. Fortmann had two hits and collected four RBI.
- Ian Doyle picked-up the pitching win after throwing six innings.
