FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Olivet College baseball team was shutout by Dominican (Ill.) University, 9-0, this morning at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Stars scored two runs in the first, one in the second, five in the sixth and one in the eighth for their nine runs. The Comets had only seven hits. Junior Austin Clark (Ossineke/Alpena) and senior Phil Sullens (Belleville) each went 2-for-3 at the plate. On the mound, junior Sean Alexander (Fenton) was the losing pitcher, as he allowed the first three runs on seven hits in five innings.
Olivet seeks its second win of the season tomorrow against SUNY-Fredonia. Game time is 1 p.m.
