Good and McLeod receive UOlivet’s Hoover and Sprandel awards
OLIVET, Mich. – Seniors Morgan Good and Darren McLeod have received The University of Olivet's Linda Hoover and Walter Sprandel awards for the 2025-26 academic year. These awards are presented annually to the top senior female and male student-athlete in recognition of excellence in athletic performance, exemplary conduct, and outstanding academic achievement.
Good was a four-year letterwinner on the women's volleyball team. She majored in criminal justice, with concentrations in law enforcement and corrections.
Academically, Good will be a four-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic Honor Roll recipient and was one of just three volleyball players to earn MIAA Academic Elite honors last season.
Beyond the court, Good demonstrated a strong commitment to service. She volunteered at the CrossWalk Teen Center. Good also participated in Olivet's Service Day, helping collect and donate items to Olivet Community Schools, the Eaton Siren Shelter, and the Eaton County Youth Facility.
McLeod was a four-year letterwinner on the wrestling team, finishing his career with 83 wins. He was also named the 2024–25 MIAA Senior Sportsman of the Year.
A double major in finance and accounting, McLeod is a four-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll honoree and was the only wrestler to receive 2025 MIAA Academic Elite honors. He is also a two-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.
Off the mat, McLeod has been equally accomplished. He served as president of Phi Beta Lambda and the Accounting Student Organization, and as vice president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Global Citizen's Honors Program.
By virtue of earning these awards, Good and McLeod are now Olivet's nominees for the MIAA Sheila Wallace Kovalchik and Al Deal Scholar-Athlete awards. They are presented annually to the top graduating male and female senior in the MIAA who has excelled in academics and athletics, as well as displayed outstanding leadership in his/her respective community.
